There’s a sound missing in some churches today. Not because the band isn't playing… not because the screens aren’t bright enough… but because the Spirit isn’t moving.
Oh yes, the building may be full, but the fire is gone. The songs are rehearsed, but the power is rehearsed too. And people walk in heavy and leave the same way they came — untouched, unshaken, unchanged.
I'm not here to bash any church. I'm not here to throw stones at lights, stages, or strategy. But I am here to raise a cry that’s burning in my spirit: We don’t need another show. We need the presence of God to fall again.
"Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit," says the Lord (Zechariah 4:6). The early church didn’t have fog machines. They had fire from heaven. They didn’t schedule the Holy Ghost out of the service. They waited for Him to come.
Somewhere along the way, we started trading power for polish. We learned how to impress, but forgot how to intercede. We packed our pews, but emptied our altars. And we started performing instead of praying down glory.
There’s nothing wrong with excellence. Do everything with order and intention. But don’t let the show replace the Spirit. Don’t let the production overpower the presence. Because there’s a hurting world out there — and they aren’t looking for another concert. They’re looking for a place where chains break, tears fall, demons flee, and the anointing still destroys the yoke (Isaiah 10:27).
What we need is a church that still believes in the power of prayer, a people that still cry out until the glory falls, a body that still expects signs and wonders — not just likes and views.
People are walking into church every week broken. Addicted. Anxious. Angry. Abandoned. And if all we give them is a show, we’ve failed them. But if we give them the Spirit… If we invite the presence of Jesus… If we make room for the fire of God… then they’ll walk out not just inspired — but transformed.
The goal is not to entertain… it’s to encounter. It’s time to bring worship back to the throne, not the stage. It’s time to return to presence over performance, to revival over routine.
Somebody reading this — you've felt it too. You’ve been craving the days where church meant something. Where the atmosphere shifted. Where people got healed. Where you felt God walk in the room. That hunger isn’t nostalgia. That’s the Holy Ghost calling you home.
Jesus said in John 4:23–24, "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth... God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth."
Let’s bring the Church back to life. Let’s stop settling for shows when we could be setting altars on fire and soaked in the happy tears of the lost because they’ve been found. Let’s stop having services where no one gets saved, no one gets delivered, no one gets filled — and call down heaven again!
We are not just here to perform. We are here to proclaim. We’re not just here to impress. We’re here to invite the Spirit. We are not just doing church — we are the Church. And it’s time to act like it.
🕊️ ALTAR CALL:
If you’ve drifted, if you’ve felt dry, if your fire’s gone dim — this is your moment. Jesus hasn’t given up on you. The Spirit of God is still calling your name.
Pray this from your heart:
"Lord Jesus, I need You. I’ve gone through the motions, but I want the real thing. Forgive me, cleanse me, and fill me with Your Spirit. I surrender my heart to You. Light the fire again. I believe You died and rose again, and I want to live for You from this day on. In Jesus’ name. Amen."
🙏 If you just prayed that, we’d love to pray with you personally. Visit us at churchofnewrevival.co or our socials and reach out anytime.
🔥 Closing Word: He’s Still in the House
Let me close with this...
You don’t need a stage. You don’t need a spotlight. You don’t need smoke or scripted perfection.
What you need is the Holy Ghost. And I came to tell somebody — He’s still in the house!
He’s still healing the brokenhearted. He’s still setting captives free. He’s still walking through the aisles of your situation with fire in His eyes and mercy in His hands.
Some of y’all been sitting in church but haven’t stood in His presence in a long time. You’ve been in the building… but not in the glory. That can change today.
I don’t care how far you drifted, how cold your worship has gotten, or how long you’ve just “gone through the motions” — He never left you. And He’s calling you back.
Not to a show. Not to religion. But to revival.
🛠️ Challenge of the Week: Build an Altar Again
This week, I’m not asking you to just “go to church” — I’m asking you to be the church.
✅ Set aside 10 minutes a day — just you and God. No music. No distractions. Just altar time.
✅ Ask Him to light the fire again.
✅ Pray for a real move of God in your home, your church, your city.
✅ Invite one person to join you in that fire — online or in person.
And every morning, declare this out loud:
"Lord, I don’t want a show — I want Your Spirit.
I don’t want a seat — I want the fire.
I don’t want Sunday tradition — I want Monday transformation.
Light me up again."
Because if we’re gonna be the church that shakes hell… We’ve got to be the church that heaven fills.
