Bring Sacred Back to the Sanctuary

๐Ÿ•Š️ They Had the Fire—We Settled for the Screens and Fog

✍️ By Church of New Revival

๐Ÿ•Š️ Announcements from Church of New Revival

  • No livestream today – We're working on powerful new ways to stream Revival Radio with video upgrades, better delivery, and a deeper spiritual presence.
  • We now feature original worship music—a blend of Spirit-filled hymns and modern worship—written for this movement. We’re preparing to release our full catalog on Spotify soon.
  • All sermons (past and future) are now available on Spotify and YouTube. Visit our website to stream or download any message.
  • ๐ŸŽช Catch us at the Buford Pusser Festival on Saturday, May 24, at Adamsville City Park. Stop by our booth for free prayer, encouragement, and revival fire!

“We went from church to church, and they were nice… but it all felt like a concert. We never really felt anything—until we visited your tent revival that day. My kids started crying. I felt the fire. We all got baptized that month. Everything changed.”

That message came in not long ago—and it shook me.

Because that kind of testimony should be common. That kind of power should be normal. But somewhere along the way, we settled for fog when we were made for fire.

๐Ÿ”ฅ The Glory Has Left the Stage

We’ve built church services where the only time people cry… is when the lights are too bright.

We’ve created atmospheres where someone raising their hands or shouting “Hallelujah” is considered disruptive.

Let me say this plain: The Spirit of God is not a distraction—The Spirit is the whole point!

We’ve become so institutional, we’ve forgotten how to be spiritual. Dress codes. Approval boards. Rigid systems. And if the Spirit doesn’t fit within the outline? He’s told to wait.

“Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof...” – 2 Timothy 3:5

๐ŸŽค We Don’t Hear Testimonies Anymore

Church used to be the place where people stood up and said,
"Let me tell you what the Lord has done for me!"

Now? We don’t even give them a mic. We’ve silenced the stories that once built the faith of the room.

You can have fog, lights, a 40-minute worship set… but if nobody’s being changed, what are we really celebrating?

Testimonies are proof that God is moving. They’re the firewood of revival. They remind the hurting that healing still happens. They remind the doubting that deliverance is still real.

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony...” – Revelation 12:11

Church—bring back the testimony.
Don’t just say “God is good”—show us what He brought you through.
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so!

๐Ÿ”’ When Control Replaces the Cross

Saints, we are in trouble when the church starts controlling what only the Holy Ghost should lead.

There are churches today so bound up in policy and protocol, they leave no room for presence.

Some churches won’t even let someone read the Bible publicly unless they’re ordained. You can be full of the Holy Ghost, walking in truth—but unless you’ve got a title, you’re told to sit down. (Source)

In some places, the pastor must get their sermon pre-approved. Prayers have to be submitted for editing. Worship leaders are told exactly what to sing—not by the Spirit, but by a schedule.

And in some extreme cases, members are even expected to get pastoral permission before going on vacation. Yes, really. There are churches where people are discouraged from making life decisions without consulting the leadership—as if pastors are spiritual parole officers. (Source)

What happened to freedom in Christ?
What happened to the priesthood of the believer?
What happened to letting the Spirit lead, instead of the bulletin?

The early church didn’t need a committee to approve whether the fire should fall. They gathered, they prayed, they tarried—and heaven moved.

Some churches aren’t dead because the Spirit left.
They’re dead because they locked Him out.

✝️ Some of Y’all...

Some of y’all have been in those churches. You were told to “tone it down.”

Don’t shout. Don’t cry. Don’t lift your hands. Don’t pray unless you’re on the schedule. Don’t speak unless it’s in the script.

But your soul was screaming. Your spirit was hungry. And when you came into a place where the Spirit was free—you broke. You wept. You shouted. You felt alive again.

That was God. That was revival. That was sacred.

๐Ÿ•Š️ It’s Time to Bring Back the Sacred

We’re not here to impress.
We’re not here to entertain.
We’re here to invite heaven down.

We don’t need another curated playlist.
We don’t need another fog machine.

We need the fire. We need the altar. We need the sacred.

⏳ Next Week: Don't Miss This Message

๐Ÿ”ฅ “Bring Back the Sacred” – Next Sunday’s sermon on Revival Radio.

If you’re hungry for more…
If you’re tired of spiritual control…
If you want the glory, not the glitter…

Don’t miss what God’s about to do.

“Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?” – Psalm 85:6

๐Ÿ’ญ Ask Yourself This Week:

  • Have we mistaken structure for surrender?
  • Are we trying to control what only the Spirit can ignite?
  • Is our altar a stage—or is it a sacred place?

๐Ÿ™ Final Word

You can’t schedule a move of God.
You can’t pre-approve Pentecost.
You can’t contain the fire.

But if you make space… if you open your heart… if you clear the fog…
The fire will fall again.
